Verse
Psalm 139:17
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
Food is a gift from God. It comes in many different forms and can be enjoyed by everyone. Just for a moment think of your favorite meal. I enjoy a bowl of chicken pastry when the weather is cold. There is a lot of prep if you want it to taste like mom’s and the dish is well worth the wait.
First you clean, separate, and gather the herbs and spices that will enhance the flavor of the chicken. With this we are promise a dish that will render a rich and flavorful broth. We smell the soothing aroma of onions, celery, poultry seasonings, butter, salt and finding it hard not to rush the cooking process by turning up the heat just a bit. Just awaiting to bring together the pastry strips and chicken seasoned to perfection is mouth watering. Pastry strips alone are bland and tasteless but when you add chicken pieces seasoned to perfection to the dish, the dish explodes with warmth and flavor that will soothe the soul. Its the seasonings added to an other wise bland, simple chicken recipe that is the main idea to make the meal special.
Let’s just think of our relationship with God. Is it wonderful or bland. Is it alive and reaching greater heights or is it just OK by your standards. Have you studied God’s words. Sat quietly and listen to his thoughts? Have you prayed for God’s vision for your life or even asked the Holy Spirit to help you mature in Him? There is so much more to salvation that being saved and set apart from the world. There’s work to be done. Experiences to be shared and a journey that will enrich your life and the lives of others. Pray that you will grow in the knowledge of Him. Pray that you will become a seasoned saint that is destine to serve almighty God. Savor the thought. You are his precious creation. Focus on Him.
