John 14:26 (NKJV)
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
I recently got a new phone. Everything was going fine until I realized I couldn’t remember the code to unlock it.
I tried several combinations that I thought might be right, but nothing worked. The harder I tried to remember it, the more the numbers seemed to slip away.
Finally, I stopped trying and prayed.
“Lord, would You please help me remember this code?”
A few moments later, the numbers came to mind. I entered them, and the phone unlocked.
Now, to someone else, that may not seem like much. It wasn’t an emergency or some life-changing event. It was simply a forgotten phone code. But that little moment reminded me that God cares about the ordinary things in our lives just as much as the extraordinary ones.
Jesus called the Holy Spirit our Helper. That means we don’t have to reserve prayer for sickness, financial trouble, or difficult decisions. If something concerns us, we can bring it to Him. Sometimes the smallest answers remind us of the greatest truths.
If the Holy Spirit would help me remember a forgotten phone code, how much more will He remind me of God’s promises when fear, doubt, or discouragement causes me to forget them?
So don’t overlook the little things.
Bring them to God.
If they matter to you, they matter to Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for caring about every part of my life. Thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit to help, teach, and remind me. Help me to depend on You in both the great moments and the small ones, and never forget that Your loving care reaches into every detail of my life. Amen.
