John 10:27-30 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior he puts a seal on us and marks us as his. It’s not an actual seal that we can see but it’s a way of saying that we are his. See on the cross he redeemed us with his life.
Looking back over time I can see that GOD has always been speaking to me. He speaks to all of us. We just have to figure out how he’s speaking to us and then listen. The way he speaks to you might not be the same way he speaks to me. Think about your parents. Did your father speak to you the same way your mother did? My father was more direct and forceful. My mother had a softer and gentler voice well until she got mad.My dad would chastise me and mainly put me on punishment. My mother’s weapon of choice was the belt, the switch and one day I got the extension cord. That was a very bad day for me but she got her point across. And somehow it hurt her more than it hurt me. See GOD is like that. He has different ways of communicating with us. Here are some ways GOD is speaking to us. These are just some examples but there are many other ways too:
Experience: The things we experience in our day to day living that teaches us about the ways of GOD, Examples: these are the things we see others go through,Literally: Now I have never experienced this one but people have said that they have literally heard GOD’s voice. I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet,Through his Word: The Bible is GOD’s written word to us. Preaching: the word say how can they hear without a preacher,Study: with a group like Bible Study or on you own, Songs: A lot of Christian’s songs are scripture based, especially the hymns but Be careful to make sure the words in the song line up with scripture,The voice in our head: These are like our thoughts but are revealed to us by GOD, Jesus told Peter flesh and blood did not reveal this to you but my father in heaven,Other people: This is when other people tell you What GOD is saying. Some times it’s a confirmation of what GOD has already revealed to you, and Angles: This reminds me of the birth of Christ when the Angel brought the good news to Mary that GOD had found favor in her. E through his voice GOD desires to have a relationship with us.In order to have a relationship with GOD we need to hear him just like he hears us when we speak or pray to him.
My prayer is that GOD will open my understanding to hear what GOD is saying to me so I can be more obedient to his will. Amen.
