John 14:1
“Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me.” NKJV
These words were written in red, meaning this was a conversation where Jesus is speaking. To me, to believe, to have faith, and to trust are important elements of our Christian journey. Take away any one of them and you forfeit your peace. Not only the peace in your home, or the good times with your friends, but the peace within your heart that only God gives. Being tormented in your spirit can only be erased by God’s grace, God’s love and God’s spirit… the Holy Spirit… our comforter.
Covid-19 and its Delta Variant are troubling the lives of present day people. Many love ones have lost their lives to this invisible plague. There are some that choose not to believe in this invisible evil spirit. And then, there are those, that in fear, will give up. But the christian is taught that there is nothing under the sun that our God can not handle. He has said that if you believe in HIM there is nothing to worry about. He’s not speaking to any and everyone in this passage, He is speaking to YOU as an individual. Only to you. Everyone else must have their own relationship with God in order to benefit from His promises. There is PEACE when a troubled heart is touched by God. It’s not for me to understand, but for me to only believe, have faith and trust in God. He will then give you peace.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, You are Holy, you are strong and might and you are wonderful. You love me in spite of my faults. We praise and honor your holy name. We thank you for grace, peace, and mercy that you give to us daily. Help me to focus and not to take you for granted. Life without you cannot have peace, your peace. Thank you for this precious gift in my life. Amen
