Job 12:13 “With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.

Do you know how noisy this world is? Just stop for a moment and listen, don’t cheat. Take just two minutes. Give this moment your full attention. Take notice that we live in chaos, full of distractions and complex sounds that create a movement of pitches, noise and unintelligible speech. It’s madness coming to life and yet we experience it daily and see it as normal. I have come to know that it is tiring at the most. When this confusing barrage of sound become our normal, then we do two things to survive. We either ignore our surroundings or be consumed by it. Either way, it’s a tough scenario.

I am hearing impaired and hearing aids are my daily hearing assistant. It magnify sound 10 time more than normal sound. Now let’s put this in perspective. A person wearing a hearing device hears this noisy world at a volume 10 time louder than others. So what can I do when others don’t understand that? Having your hearing is a gift and a miracle. But God has given me an out. God allows me to check out and relax in me time. I could be a bitter angry person because of this daily frustration. But God has give me peace in the mist of this storm I face daily. He said, this is your “Me time” with ME.

So instead of reacting negatively to this situation I face daily, I have chosen to be with God, to read His Word and to be at peace by taking my hearing aids out and disconnecting from what we call a normal day. Me time is God’s Time. You may not have a hearing disability, but finding time with God is a much needed blessing from the world we live in.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for understanding me when others can’t. Thank you for teaching me that “me time” is another way of saying my time with you. You have given me peace and strength that I can cling to as you give me counsel and guidance each day. Amen.
