Verse: Proverbs 3:31

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.

I was thinking about a particular person in my life. One that I pray for each and every day knowing that she is my gift from God. I am blessed to have an awesome relationship with this special person, and I realize everyone has one, but not like mine.

She is amazing… I am referring to my amazing mother.

I think the word amazing describes her to a T. I looked up the word amazing to make sure I was telling you the truth. And you know what, I was right. The Urban Dictionary defines amazing as: “A person that makes you feel like no one else possibly could, makes you want to fight for them… amazing is the definition of what your heart longs for and what your minds need… amazing is love.”

I’ve always known my mom was different than my friends’ mom because we liked each other. My friends would share horror stories about failed relationships with their mothers and I could never think of anything to share because my mom was wonderful in every way. Sure, there were rules, but I didn’t feel the need to rebel. Don’t get me wrong, growing up, I was a handful, but she calmly warned me, talked to me and even spanked me, but the love was always present. The only problem I had as a child was that there was only one child, I was willing to share her with… my brother. All other needy greedy children should back off. She belonged to me!! And do not try to sit on her lap. I was not having that!! No free hugs and no words showing you care. That behavior was for my brother and ME.

At that time, I didn’t know she had a calling on her life that would mean sharing, caring and loving all people from infancy to adulthood to those that are heaven bound. She is anointed and blessed by God to Sheperd His people. What’s more important is that she accepted the call and the fruits of her labor is seen and felt by so many people. The Teaching Preacher loves people, and it draws them to her so that she can share God’s word. Amazing.

Prayer

Dear God, you are an awesome and an amazing God that loved us enough to give us anointed people to teach and guide us when we have lost our connection to you. Let us not forget your grace and mercy, salvation and your love that works thru your chosen people. Thank you, Father. Amen
